Having managed to get an afternoon free for a change, I decided to go ahead and OS Lionize this MacBook Pro running OS10.6.8
Tha App store accepted my application and I was tickled to see the lion logo leap into my dock and start downloading.
However once we go to the Install sequence it said my HD was not OS Extended and not journaled. It recommended Using Disk Utlility to fix this, but it could not. So I backed up the HD onto the Huey Cobra, booted off that, used Disk Utility to reformat the HD in OS Extended and journaled. Then I restored the contents of the HD and tried again. But nix--
Same story. What am I doing wrong people? Please advise...
TIA
FWIW I have fixed this problem after 5 days of being too busy to do anything about it. What I did was back up everything with SuperDuper, then boot off the External HD. Used Disk Utility to reformat the internal HD OS Extended and journaled. Then used the Lion Installer on the external HD to install on the internal HD. Finally used Migrant (or whatever the damn thing is called to transfer all files/apps etc from the external HD to the internal HD. Set up Cloud & upgraded [censored]tail. Total time elapsed < 3 hours.
