Hi guys,
Is there anyone who can teach me or tell me where to find info about inputting data in a spreadsheet and make them do simple math? Simple things (but difficult for me) such as getting one cell to show +5% of the previous one; the product of two cells like 5 x 4 = 20, Things like that baffle me completely. I haven't been able to find any information about things like this.
Any Excellists out there?

Hi Julian

Here is an attempt to explain:
1)  for getting one cell to show +5% of the previous one:

Position the cursor in the cell where you want the result.  Press Shift plus + keys together and a "+" sign will appear in the cell.  Then move the cursor to the previous cell and press "return".  The cell number will be placed into your results cell.  Then enter * (for multiplication) followed by 1.05, then press return.  You should now have a value that is 5% of the previous cell.

2)  In a similar way, to get the product of two cells into a third cell:

Position the cursor in the third cell, where you want the result.  as before, enter + then move the cursor to the first cell and press "return".  The cell number will be placed into your results cell.  Then enter * (for multiplication) and move the cursor to the second cell and press "return".  You should now have a value that the first cell multiplied times the second cell.

Does that make sense?

I found these websites that might help too?
