I have only recently started using iPhoto, and had made an album of photos of our new house - opening and closing iPhoto, the album was still there.  However, yesterday I restarted my computer, and on opening iPhoto (not used for a couple of weeks) the house photo album did not appear, and I cannot find any way to make it reappear.

Has anyone any suggestions?

Thanks!

Hi Anne,

Are the individual photos also gone from the library?  Or is it just the album you created that is gone?

I hope you haven't lost any photos completely.

I still have the photos, thank goodness!   But I spent a lot of time (as my first iPhoto project!) selecting the best photos, labelling then to get them in the right order in slide show, etc - so I am not a bit pleased to have lost the album - and certainly am not about to use iPhoto again if I can't find the album!

What do others use, if not iPhoto?

Yikes!  I hope it's just somehow hidden. If that's the case, then maybe checking the WWW blogs might show up a similar problem and what s/he did to solve the problem.  I usually get much more helpful info about problems from the conversations on the WWW than from manufacturers or software people.  I still use iPhoto to manipulate my photos, but I had enough hassle with it for uploads that I switched to Image Capture which I like really a lot ... just plops the photos into whatever folder I indicate and then I sort the photos as I want.  Simple. Clear. Hands on. But not good for easily or nicely showing the photos.  You might check with Julian, though I think he doesn't use iPhoto.  Might be remembering incorrectly.

Hope the album shows up! Please keep us updated.   louise

Hi Anne,

Glad to hear that you still have the photos, but I do understand the work that went into arranging them.

I haven't used iPhoto extensively -- partly because, IMHO, it tries to "read my mind" and presume to know what I want a little more than I would like.  I'm sure it's very powerful and can do wonderful things, but I too would like to know what others use besides iPhoto.
