Kinki-Net is a group of people who love Macs and sharing info about Macs, based in the traditional "Kinki" district of Japan (modern "Kansai") that embraces the cities of Osaka, Kyoto, and Kobe. Joining Kinki-Net costs 1,000 Japanese yen, and this can be paid by PayPal or at meetings -- your forum account will not be activated until this money is received.

Our policy since 1989 has been "Family & Friendly" — treat others on Kinki-Net as you would treat family and friends. To maintain that vibe, we have a "self-declaration" system, which REQUIRES all members to complete their profiles as follows:

"Username": This is the name you use to register and login with. This MUST be your real name, such as "Nancy Drew." This name will only be known by other KMUG members.

"Name": This is better understood as "display name," since it appears next to your posts in the forum and is even seen on the few conferences open to non-members. This can be whatever you want, such as "MacHead."
